I remember celery salt and it’s unique taste but like you we don’t use salt on food or in cooking, the only exception being broad beans which need just a touch of salt to bring out the flavour.

Apparently chicken salt is a peculiar Australian delicacy made from salt and chicken skins and lots of other disgusting things. I think we should send them missionaries!
-
Always thought it was malt vinegar. I’ve never heard of chicken salt but then I live a very sheltered life!

Many years ago I had a Range Rover with the 3 litre petrol. The noise when you floored it when pulling away was like music to the ears!

Go on spoil yourself. Alex Halfpenny is a mate of mine. They’ve got lots of interesting stuff but no bargains!

I’ve had a Plus 8 but I was in my 40’s then. It’s my avatar picture. It’s one of the cars I wish I’d never sold but I got rid of it to buy a self build Caterham 7 kit. Another car I wish I’d never sold. The new Plus 6 is a complete revolution with its break away from the traditional steel frame chassis but new Morgans are starting to be ‘silly money’ now. I sometimes go up to Ledgerwoods in North Lincs to view his Morgan stock and also down to Allon Whites at Cranfield. The last interesting car I had was an F Type but that had so many problems during the three years I had it that I got rid when the warranty expired. To have an ‘interesting’ car would be pure indulgence. I can usually get my ‘fix’ by visiting Sherwood Restorations in nearby Southwell to do a bit of tyre kicking. I think my days of fun have come to an end! My last mechanical purchases were a walk behind petrol strimmer and a cordless chain saw for my wife!

I liked the look of Trogg's MGB. I had a BGT from new in blaze (orange) DVO 200J. I had qualified by then so the bank were perfectly happy to lend me the money to buy it. I'm quite tempted to buy one, a convertible, but I see the prices are shooting up now for decent ones. Perhaps another Morgan would be a more suitable car for my age!

Yes Margie, I seem to remember a covered passage. The surgery seemed to be in a basement. It’s a long time ago. I had crooked teeth and was referred to an orthodontic specialist, a Mr. Hope, who practiced on Claremont Rd. in Carrington on certain days but I believe his house and main surgery were on Musters Rd.in Bridgford. I remember him being annoyed when I chipped a front tooth which he had just straightened. I didn’t get it capped until I was in my 20’s. It was all the visits to the specialist that prompted me to want to become a dentist. I got a place at Bristol dental school but chickened out at the last minute when I realised that I would be looking into people’s mouths for the rest of my career!

The ‘school dentist’ in Arnold was just like that. He had a treadle operated drill. I think it was on Front St. opposite Worrall Avenue, beneath an old chapel-like building where Boyes Is now located.

Until recently I had a Lotus Elise as a toy for track days. It had a very high and wide sill. Ultimately I had to get out of it on my hands and knees. I decided that was a bit undignified so it had to go!

Whether you like it or not, to take a photograph of private property from a public place is within the law. People are doing it all the time. It's your choice to choose not to do it.

I’ve just been changing the oil in a 20 year old lawn tractor and noticed that it’s a 20hp v- twin. It makes you realise just how low powered some of those old cars were.

Try again BK. It’s definitely a Rover. What’s more it looks like Rover! Try using ‘Instant Car Check’.

There are some people who are deliberately looking to be offended it would seem.

You took a photograph from the street. Why would you need permission from the owner? If that were the case you’d need permission for every photograph you take in a public place.
-
‘Nether Close’
-
‘Barlock Road’
-
Here’s another. ‘Albert Ball Close’.
-
Here's an offensive street name. 'Goose Gate' !
-
The Council are looking for potentially offensive street names in Nottingham now. I can’t think of any offhand but it will be an interesting challenge to look for them. You’ve only got to come out into the county to be offended by Blidworth Bottoms
-
Punch and Judy is questionable.
-
So what are we going to be offended by today?
-
I only had one photo taken as a kid. My parents just used to get it enlarged every year!

You really don't know me Jill! The only silver spoon I was born with is the EPNS one which sits on my desk to remind me of my humble beginnings!

I’m a great aficionado of Worcester sauce but I don’t recollect a powdered version nor have I seen it. Morrison’s had no Worcester sauce available on our order this week so I tried Henderson’s, a concoction from Sheffield. It claims a similar age to Worcester sauce and is made from a secret recipe. It’s not as good as Worcester but has a similar coloured label which is a bit of a cheat. You can’t beat ‘the original and genuine’.
