I’ve survived an air-crash, a car-crash, been threatened with a knife and survived a very nasty gale in Falmouth Bay!
Fingers crossed!

There was also a bicycle shop near to the pram company. I bought a Kona mountain bike from there many years ago and did a few 'Great Nottingham Bike Rides' on it. My son has just refurbished it and it's as good as new.

I’ve seen the machine Mary 1947 refers to a few times in antique centres but I’ve not been tempted to buy. The first time one was ever used on me the barber said ‘whatever you do, don’t let go of the electrode!’. I did, of course and the electric shock he received knocked him right over!
I think at the time I was told that the electric machine was to stimulate the scalp and prevent hair loss. It must have worked as I’ve still got lots of hair. It has turned it grey though!

The barber shop that was upstairs was formerly near to Wigfalls on Clumber St. I don't recall their name.
-
That was the place! I bought my 12 string Yamaha guitar from Carlsboro in later years.
-
The shop I went through wasn’t Burtons. It was below Cranbrook St. on the LHS going down to Lower Parliament St.
-
I remember going upstairs in a large gents outfitters at the bottom of Hockley to reach a barber shop that had moved from a Clumber St. This would be in the early 60’s. They gave you a scalp massage where you had to hold an electrode!

The trouble is that some snowflakes are just looking to be offended and will find offence in almost anything. The Royals, by their behaviour, just put themselves up for ridicule but fortunately imprisonment in the Tower is no longer a punishment.

It’s all documented in a book ‘The Peter Principle’ written by Laurence Peter in 1969. It’s very well thought out. Read it and a lot of your experiences with management will fall into place. As Jonab infers, the government and opposition are riddled with such people.

Priti Patel is a perfect example of someone who has been promoted to the level of their own incompetence. They always blame their underlings for their own inadequacies. I've witnessed it many times.

I’ve just found it and it’s actually a Webley Junior. I do have an old BSA but that’s a .22. I bought that from a friend who lived in a flat in Mapperley Park where he used to take potshots from his bedroom window! I do have a more modern Theoben Rapid 7 which has a 7 shot .22 cartridge and is powered by compressed air and charged up from a diver’s bottle.

It was an old BSA .177 which I had when I was about 10. I’ve still got it!

I suspended my Airfix aeroplanes from the washing line and picked them of with my air rifle. I did make a model of HMS Belfast just before the Falklands war but after the war ended we ceremoniously burnt it.

Depends whether you’re still alive BK!

My first company car was a Morris Marina TC. That had the MGB engine but with more weight to lug around. Pretty dreadful really. It was superseded by a Ford Capri 3 litre Ghia in white with a black vinyl roof which was a considerable improvement.

Councillor Mitchell was on the city 'watch committee' which oversaw the police force. Coincidently they bought their police cars from Mitchell's!

I'm sitting in the car park at that very spot now Loppy!

Yes. It had a ‘men only’ bar!

A roll of self amalgamating tape.
-
A bit of excitement would be nice on this hitherto uneventful day!
-
You can buy a roll of self amalgamating tape from many sources for about £3.50. It will do the same job.

Is anything what it used to be? It’s said ‘never go back’

This is why they sell shrink sleeving in various diameters.

Screwfix is probably better as they sell reels in various diameters as opposed to the assortment box of small lengths you would get at Halfords.
How's your day?

Someone once told me C&A stood for ‘cheap and attractive’. There is a slightly ruder suggestion also!
