  1. The people of Nottingham, makes Nottingham what it is. I like the reference Ian x
  2. Dear Michael, The support that you give to others is extraordinary, especially in the light of the very difficult & awful time that you are both going through. Please keep strong both of you, it is amazing what a strong & positive outlook can achieve. I know because I myself am a Cancer survivor. When I was told it was unlikely that I would survive past my mid 20's & to start planning for my funeral, I took offence & it made me more determined that ever to beat it. I gave it a nick-name - "Alien", sometimes, this can help, it did for me. How dare they say that to me I thought.
  3. Dear Darkazana, How kind of you to say that. We hope that you had a lovely weekend. Sorry that you forgot your laptops, But sometimes a breakaway from technology is good for you. It can seem strange for some people though - not being connected. We like to completely switch off to emerse ourselves in our holiday or weekend away, without having to worry about emailing people. We don't even switch our mobile phone on. We tell those close to us where we will be & for how long for just in case of an emergency, & that's that. Anything else can wait until we get back home. Thank you for yo
  4. Dear Bilbraborn, I know you mean well, but please do not be concerned about things. We will let the powers that be take care of things in a legal way. Everything has been documented as we do not want others to go through what my Son has for the past years. But I really don't think that what you suggest is the way forward. if the situation ran away & gained momentum, it would not only be counter productive, she would get wind of everything & she would cover things up & get away with it. We understand that all the investigations need to be done first & in the correct way. Some o
  5. Yeh, right, & the sad thing is, he can't see it. Oh well, he can enjoy it until the money runs out & she moved on to someone else who's rich - bless him! He should pretend he's given all his money away & see how fast she runs. Let's hope he finds someone to truly Love him for who he is.
  6. Could someone tell me how to get emoji funny faces onto a message please? I have put them in with my message, but they do not show up - it comes up as blank. I would love to put the moving ones on too if possible. Nothing too technical please as I am a Techno Phobe. It was only last year that my Husband & I joined the 21st Century. We now decided to "shock horror" buy a new mobile phone that doesn't have an ariel attached & that isn't about 20 years old Ha! Ha! But, in our favour - the phone still works. Only need a new one for the keyboard because it takes forever to type a Text &am
  7. Dear All, Feeling a lot better this morning - Thank you all for the well wishes. Those tablets worked like magic & I'm on the road to making a full & hopefully rapid recovery, Thanks to the emergency Dr & all those healthcare workers out there who work so hard & sometimes under very difficult circumstances to make us better - you do a Stirling job. Dear Robbie, I have posted a PM to you. How can it be that you are doing this for someone you have never met? It is our good fortune that you have been there for us at the right time, that you are continuing to help & support
  8. PS: Antibiotics on board now & she has taken the first one. They must be strong because they are a short course - it is 1 tablet twice a day for 3 days. She is drinking plenty & has always done so because since 1969 she gets dehydrated very quickly anyway. So she drinks gallons a day (no, not alcohol) & liiquid goes through her "like water" LOL. She's not Diabetic though, so that's good. But she seems to process liquid through her system quicker than I have ever known anyone do so. But even then it is not enough sometimes. Along with other health issues she has an Auto Immune di
  9. I am writing this on behalf of my wife to say Bless you all & that would be great Robbie, if you could do that for us please? You certainly have gone over & above for us, also Robbie we would appreciate that - again a Big Thank you. Sorry that she cannot reply personally at the moment & she types & phrases things better than me. Her condition deteriorated & the infection is worse & I had to get the emergency Dr out to her because, within minutes of posting her last message, she was too ill to go to the Walk In Centre. I am just off to get the Antbiotics & stronger
  10. Thank you, I can hardly type now with tears of joy. Sorry to cut this message short, but I need to go to the Walk-In Centre because it seems as though I have a very painful water infection. It's probably due to the stress of it all, that's what usually happens to me. I need to nip it in the bud, as I normally wait because I do not like to trouble the Dr's. So I try & see if I can get rid of it myself. But last year it turned into a Kidney infection & I cannot afford to be ill now, it is not an option. - too much to sort out. So this might be my last statement for a while until I fee
  11. Good morning everyone, Sorry for the delay in writing this, & it is fantastic news that my Son, myself & his Stepfather will be going to meet the Whitaker's next week, hopefully with a view to employment. I cannot say anything more at this present moment in time. Except to say it is a thrilling deveopement & another step forward for my Son. He couldn't sleep last night for the excitement of me talking to them this morning & awaiting news of when he was going to meet them because he has followed the family's successful careers since he was a tiny boy & it is all he can thin
  12. Dear Bilbraborn, As soon as my Son is out of there I will make it my life's ambition to expose her. We need a documentary filmmaker that is an expert in this sort of thing - anyone know of anyone'? There is lot more than what I have put in my thread about what goes on, but cannot say anything further at this present moment in time. Echo x
  13. Dear Catfan, Thank you for the information. Unfortunately we are in the thick of it still & will not be able to make that one. We have appointments on Wednesday with Dr's/Dentist for ourselves etc we cannot change them & we have been putting off for ourselves as we needed to be free to care for our Son when he was injured & needed us more. We don't know until in about 1/2 Hr when we are taking our Son to meet The Whitaker's & that is a priority. When I was between about 2yrs old to just before my 9th Birthday, I lived on Burns St, across from the Arboretum, apart from a coupl
  14. Dear Catfan, We would love to come to a Nottstalgia meet up when everything is sorted & we have had a good rest. Do you have dates & whereabouts? I will probably find them somewhere on the site, but to be honest, I have been so busy & tired that I haven't had a chance to delve into the site further than this. We would like to Thank anyone that would care to meet up with us in person that has supported us through this, it isn't enough just to type Thank you, but it is all I can do for this moment in time. All of the support that we get from everyone is truly & most gratefully
  15. Yes hippo girl I will do my utmost to get her named & shamed. Echo x
  16. We cannot Thank Robbie enough for all that he's done for us & for the first time in a long time, we are excited & very hopeful for a successful & happy outcome. I have to ring the Whitaker's tomorrow, hopefully with a view to arranging for them to meet our Son. So Hopefully I might be able to write a good update tomorrow. Wish us luck. Our Son is very amiable, he likes everyone (except she that shall not be named - his employer) & has a good sense of humour when the aforementioned person is not stamping him into the ground. He is a survivor, having gone through what he has/is
  17. Sorry, I must try & shorten my messages. I will get kicked out for typing too much. I agree with Ian. Echo x
  18. Dear Smiffy49, Yes, sadly it does happen more than you think. And Thank you for the tip to my Son & others looking to work with horses & about volunteering. He volunteered for 5 years & he was very happy & over the moon when his employer offered him the full-time salaried position. Unfortunately, the first day he was working as a paid employee, his employer changed & started buying him. But please, if everyone that is interested in horses & who is physically fit, could volunteer for even just an hour a week/month or more. There could be so many more people that are i
  19. Thank you again Robbie, I have just sent you a personal message. Speak Soon. Echo x
  20. Dear Robbie, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I have tears of hope & joy at last & our whole family cannot Thank You enough. I will await your message with happy expectation & go there whenever we are asked to. He used to live at Bingham when he did his 5 yr volunteering & prior to being Full-Time at the stables he is currently at, what a coincidence. What can I say? I am speechless for once Ha! Ha! Echo x
  21. Just an update to let you know that my Son has always respected the Whitaker's & thinks to work for them would be his dream come true. He never thought that it would happen because of his current employer bullying him. So if there is the slightest chance to do this he will grab it with both hands & run until he dropped. It would be our dream come true for him too. Thank you for trying from the bottom of our hearts - even if it doesn't work out, you are trying to help him/us. He just needs a chance to show what he is capable of. We are so proud of him for holding down his job of wor
  22. Thank you I will give it a go. Echo (Cakey Lady/Rottweiler) x
  23. PS: I meant to say at the bottom -of my last message, that although still on soft food, we have got him to try new foods that we like, & that he can cook in his slow cooker that are tasty. We also bought him a smoothly blender yesterday so that he can enjoy lots of good fruit drinks that will do him good & help his jaw to heal faster - he thinks that it's fantastic. His favourite is banana. In this heat 36.3 yesterday, I don't think he'll be making the Chilli or Curry that we have just taught him how to cook though Ha! Ha! We hope all of you have a fantastic day. 😰🍝&#
  24. Hello everyone, So sorry for not replying to all your wonderful responses until now. My Son is recovering well, but the quietness of our little old fashioned quaint village with no shop & 1 pub was getting too much for him & he decided that he was well enough to go home this week to Calverton. Although loving the village, he said he is used to being so active with working full-time & there is nothing for him to do here except go for a walk about 3 - 5 times a day trying to get his strength back & rehabilitating himself, or watching T.V (which he doesn't do). He would rather go
  25. PS: I am just a very ordinary Mum, doing what a Mother should do, but your comments are really appreciated. I will keep you informed of his progress. Thank you once again & I cannot believe that people we have never met are being so kind to us - that is true generous spirit indeed. Love to you all, your friends & family are so lucky to have you. Echo x
