bamber 128
I was in Waterstone's this evening and came across "From Fleetlines to Scanias" - the history of the Nottingham Standard Bus and how this unique design evolved over the years. £19.95 and I had to have it! jackson 301
Simply LOVE Waterstone's Book Shop: so humanitarian - liberal - the way one can pick up a book from the shelves or tables, choose a comfy seat and sit down and have a good read. Long may it exist - so appreciated.
Paulus 541
Used to be what libraries were for...........................my favourite of which was Aspley Library on Nuthall Road....................
StephenFord 866
Remember Aspley Library about 1952/3. It had that distinctive library book smell about it. Flitting back to the subject heading - from Fleetlines to Scanias - I always associate Aspley Library with trips out into the country. That's where we used to catch the blue buses to go blackberrying at Kimberley, bluebell picking at Moorgreen, or on one occasion picnicking at Alfreton park. Great excitement at getting on something other than the familiar green NCT buses. OK - - little things please little minds...
