mick2me 3,033
I have a border at the side of the house. There is a six foot fence which the border is on the north side of. The house is 4 feet away so the border only gets limited sunshine in the early morning. Any suggestions for flowering plants suitable for this border?
carni 10,094
We had a similar area and if you want the plants to creep along the fence you could try a Passion Flower which has quite an unusual flower or Jasmine and Honeysuckle we had success with all of these, may take a while to reach their best. mick2me 3,033
There are some roses/bushes that grow up to the top of the fence, I would like something that flowers at ground level.
Compo 10,328
Tropaeolum speciosum (Flame flower) is my tip. Will grow on a north facing fence or wall. Check these links for pictures etc. http://www.aberdeengardening.co.uk/diary/2011/09/03/tropaeolum-speciosum/ http://www.thompson-morgan.com/flowers/all-other-seeds-and-plants/climbing-seeds-and-plants/tropaeolum-speciosum/p6136TM
