Compo 10,328
I have planted two more clematis, this time later flowering varieties, on the entrance to the beer garden. It used to have an old white gate but it ws falling to bits and beyond repair. The arch is more inviting than the gate ever was. oops! just noticed that you can't see the top of the archway :/

Limey 242
Do you prune your Clematis back in the autumn, or late winter? I had several at our old house - I should try a couple here, but not sure how they will fare in our very sandy soil!
Compo 10,328
Clematis come in three groups 1, 2 & 3. As a general rule of thumb, prune after flowering. Group 1 flowers early, 2 flower mid-season and 3 flower in later summer.
