Only thing I can see from Sept 1947 (and maybe not what you want to hear !) is when the company got in a spot of financial trouble whilst trying to build 72 council houses in 1947 . Materials and labour and lack of capital were short after the war which led to their troubles . " House Builders Failure .examination at Nottingham Bankruptcy Court today. The debtors were Sam William Shaw, 54, his cousin, Cyril Shaw,aged 50 and Thomas Garner, 51, builder and contractors, trading as J. Shaw and Company, at 18, Newdigate-Street Kimberley.
