Funny you should say that........I looked at the site a couple of days ago and realised it had changed. 

 

Then I forgot to go back later and have a closer look, so I'll do that some time today.

Seems more detailed now.

The bungalow I was born in at Mapperley has its house name given on the 1947 map , as were the three or four other houses on what was an unmade road.

These maps are great.  I found my old house, Stoneycroft, on Arnold Road (the latest map shows the printing works that replaced it).

Also found those relics of military camps (?) near old Suburban Railway, top of The Wells Road.

Lots of detail to be discovered - quite a treasure trove.

I've realised something else about these new maps which is really useful........they (almost) fill in the gaps which were left when the 'Old Maps' website stopped being open to everyone a few years ago.

 

You can now get detailed maps from the 50s - 60s etc.
