Caz 25
I have just been to have my back tweaked & it occurred to me that the work was harder the hours were longer but never do I remember anyone saying they had been to a chiropractor or a masseuse when I was a little girl? How the hell did they manage without the wonders of the modern world? must have been a very painful experience
alisoncc 379
I think there were chiropractors and masseuses, but not known as such. There was an episode of "Born and Bred" on the box a while back that showed the village doctor competing (professionally) with a "Bone Cracker" known to the local miners. He was an older guy who was called in when someone had a "crook" back. ('scuse the Australianism). Hugs Alison
Ayupmeducks 1,730
You suffered Caz! My Dad suffered real bad with a "slipped disc" (prolapsed) He just layed on a hard surface, much as I do when my back troubles me. Chiropractice, hope thats how it'sspelled, was outlawed for many years in the UK. I don't know when it was legitamised, but I know the medical mainstream frowned on it as voodoo magice for years.
