Don't know if this is the right place, but I haven't had much luck with Family History sites, so maybe someone with local boxing interests would be a better bet.

Is there anyone here who has an interest/knows someone who has an interest in local boxing history, please ? I'm asking on behalf of an American who has an ancestor named Asher who was supposed to have been a prizefighter in Nottingham. He left for the US as a young man at the beginning of the twentieth century.

Any information/suggestions as to where I could find out if this were true welcome
