General Sheridan was famous for that wonderfully politically incorrect statement: "The only good Indian is a dead Indian"! The folks of Sheridan do not like to be reminded of that! Seems the dead on both sides, US army/Indians, was about the same total!! That's talking about the "Indian Wars" waged from the 1870's to late 1880's.
