Saturday night and Sunday Morning, photos of locations

Recommended Posts

I'd come across it before, but it's a good site to have a look at.

Pity he doesn't do a "then and now" with the location which generated a lot of discussion in this thread http://nottstalgia.c...topic=228&st=60 starting at about post #75.

It's the closing scene of the film where the two actors are looking out across a housing estate in Wembley, North London, pretending to be Nottingham.

I thought when when Arthur and Doreen came out the pictures (cinema), it was the Capitol on Churchfield Lane but the picture of the Savoy on the linked website is very convincing. I'll dig out my DVD and have a look.

On the last shot, looking over the new houses, isn't there a sign that reads, Simms son & Cooke?

I always thought that was Top valley or some where close.

The final scene was shot in the Fryent Country Park overlooking Beverley Gardens, Wembley, London. The Simms Son & Cooke sign was a prop.
