  7. Certainly was, Honey played the drums and that was unusual in their day. As far as I can remember, they only had one real big hit with 'Have I The Right'. Well done Caz but a lot of the credit goes to Ilko, he sure knows his music. A
  8. Don't think she has these hidden talents, her brother was also a mrmber of the same group. Her nickname was part of the groups name and their Grandmother lived on Peveril Street, near the back of the Koh-I-Nor resteraunt opposite John Beales hosiery factory. Iused to work there many moons ago that is how I became friends with them. A
  9. I know it looks like the original head transplant gone wrong, but it was the best I could do at the time without getting all of the group involved. They had a hit in the middle sixties and then went on tour. They were away too long and could not promote their career in England and became part of the forgotten many. They were quite good as well, with this lady being unique at the time. A
  10. Its Fu Man Chu with a home perm that has run riot? A
  11. This lady was a member of a band that had a Nottingham based guitarist in their midst. Any ideas? A
  12. You have to get it off your chest now and again, it clears the air and makes you feel a lot better. Glad you have stayed with it and keep posting. A
  13. Only tried it once and made seven out of ten. Daren't try it more than once as I am in the house on my own and I have an electric slicing machine downstairs and I didn't want to be crept up on... A
  14. Sorry Ilko, I could never wear a hat, not even at Christmas, I could never buy one big enough to fit. Cannot make up my mind if it is the size of the head, the thickness of hair or just the volume needed to accommodate the grey matter... A
  15. It seems Angi that you have reached the plateau that means you are all forum-ed out. Join the club !!! There comes a point when you find it difficult to put into words exactly what you want to say and therefore you say 'nowt'. I reached this point some days ago and I think FCD put the tin hat on it. What a plonker... I don't think he is one of the usual people on here but he has definitely made a lasting impression and according to some a great hole. What is the alternative, having him back? A !tony!
  16. A bit of a hiccup, the name was Joe not John. Their son was called John and he had a brother, both in the police force. John would be old enough to be his Grandfather if they were related along the way. Pretty obscure, but you never know. A !!
  17. My other half worked at Sandersons Grocery shop and he was offered £1.00 if he could acquire a small tin of Nescafe powder. He also won an orange, when they were practically non-existant. for an english composition. Just goes to show he had a very human side to his character. A
  18. My fathers relations were called Stone, they were all in the Police force and lived at Aspley. John and Nancy Stone and they had a son called John, this is many moons ago but could be related somewhere along the way. How old is your friend? A
  19. I'll be happy to leave 'cause I am sick of that stupid moustache!! (Was she Hitlers Mum too?) A
  20. My Great-Great Gandmother used to be in service at Belvoir Castle in the early 1900's. ne of her sisters was the school mistress's in Bottesford where they all came from originally. There are still grave stones in Bettesford church with her maiden name on them. If ever there was a beautiful place to be put to rest it is the church yard, babbling brook and trees a fantastic place to stay. I'm getting maudling again... A
  21. 25th July 1871, Trent Bridge? A
  22. Was the so called Cripples Guild situated at 17 Park Road? A !tony!
  23. Being a dog friendly person, BIP, did you not know that all dogs are a year older on Boxing day? They are like the Queen, have two birthdays in a year. I think it was due t the fact that not many people remember when the dogs birthday is and so the Kennel Club attributed all dogs as one year older on 26th December. A NB Congratulations to him anyway.
