  1. I remember the Mill at the bottom of Hockley having a well but not ever the Flying horse. Didn’t the Mill close and reopened as a gay pub? Isn’t it now posh flats? 36.
  2. Being someone who has never seen anything that can’t be explained away I can’t really comment, crop circles being a good example, the lunatics who believe they are made by little green men and their flying sauces are a breed of mutants lacking a phosphate molecule in their deoxyribonucleic acid structure. The only spirits I see most nights are the ones hanging up behind the bar in me local, they come in bottles and only allowed out when a ransom is paid. 36
  3. I was in Florida in 1980/81 on Holiday, went to see a satellite launch at the Kennedy space centre, it was delayed for several hours and then cancelled, we weren’t allowed to leave the viewing site until the all clear was announced which was a lift time wait, finally got back to hotel on International drive in the late evening, a quick shower and out for Pizza. While sitting around pool next day relaxing said cancelled launch took place. 36.
  4. The cottage Balti in Beeston is very nice, it had moved several years ago from across road from Sid Standards, I have been once at the old address and several times at the new address. I would also recommend the curry house at the top end of broadgate ‘Beeston Tandoori. Reserved a table for four one evening and had to wait at least an hour before the meal was served, excuse was shortage of staff, the chef hadn’t turned up, the manager was doing all the cooking that night. I have been back since and had no problems with service. The Bombay Brasserie is also worth a visit…124 High road Beest
  5. I was at the weekend in a curry house with friends; the waiter who took and brought our order was unbelievably thick. When taking our drinks order it was if we spoke Martian. The starters came and went, all of us had popadoms and a pickle tray with an extra pot of Lime pickle on the side. Why is it that curry houses these days don’t serve Lime pickle as a standard requisite, we had to pay extra for a small dish. There were four main dishs ordered accompanied by two dishs of boiled rice and a Pashwari nan. One of those long hot plates was placed in the middle, the type that has tee light
  6. There are several pubs local to me, five of which are in ten minute walking distance all sell a GK branded beer, so what am I to do? It’s either drink GK brew or stay in and drink supermarket cheep bottle beer such likes of Budweiser or Becks to name only two. I refuse to drink pop, which is the same price as beer, besides a full sized pool table wouldn’t fit in my two down and two up.. 30.
  7. For me it’s the company I go out for not so much the beer. On the odd occasion I don’t go out there’s always a stock of beer in shed. The nights I do stay in I wonder why I have cause there’s nought on box. Maybe different for married couples but staying in every night would drive me to drink or worst still suicide. 36.
