  11. I worked on it during the refurbishment Mick - 1985. The columns are listed as is the wood paneling in the first floor boardroom. (been today actually to see it) I currently work on it as it is the headquarters of Gala Coral Group - one of my customers. 24hour cover, 7 days a week, as it houses all the mainframe computers for the entire Bingo and casino operations. Apparently, Mrs Franks mum used to work there as a girl when it was a factory.
  12. What's it like Beefy having a 'Mistress'. Com'n do tell...... We're all waiting !rotfl! If I ever went down that route Mrs Frank would cut the 'you know what off' !!

  16. The Midland Station car park is £6 for 24 hours Rog, and accepts payment by card. You would be better off though making your way to Moorbridge or Phoenix Park as Mick suggests and get the tram. It's free to leave the car and an all day tram & bus pass is only £2.70. For this you can get on and off the tram or any NCT bus as many times as you like in 24hrs - and the tram will take you directly to Midland Station.

  21. You're obviously older than me Dave as I was born in '52 - the year of the Coronation. I do remember listening to the Sunday wireless - 4 way family favorites followed by Jimmy Clitheroe. The smell of Sunday dinner cooking while we all sat around laughing. Then sharing a 1/2 of Merry Maids while we all watched the B + W film in the afternoon. Bliss compared to today. !clapping! And George Formby and Old Mother Riley. Why don't they repeat these? instead of all the crap we get nowadays? Back in my box now

  25. Mine was a very fine example of the Riley Elf. Bought it for £75 in Thurso - north of Scotland when I was working on the Dounraey Prototype Fast Reactor site in 1970 http://www.ukaea.org.uk/sites/dounreay_site.htm. Carefully drove it all the way back to Nottingham after a couple of weeks of ownership as it was my week off (6weeks on and 1 week off), managed to drive it in Nottm for 2 days before I got nudged by a double decker outside of the old bowling alley in town (Barker gate?) and it was a write off :-( http://web.ukonline.co.uk/rileyrob/specs/elf.htm Notice the Speed spec - 0 to
