@Paul Dilley Blondie hasn't been on Nottstalgia for a couple of years so she may not see your comment....but I know she has connections with people here via Facebook, so you may get a reply eventually........

A few photos from a group of Urban Explorers who got in the place in 2019.

For anyone who's not sure, this is the building in question.

I see you've found the reference to The Paladins in an old post from 2017. Unfortunately the person who posted it is no longer with us.
But if you have the time and inclination, there are many threads covering old local groups (although they don't mention the Paladins.)

I assume most people watch Eurovision with an attitude of irony and sarcasm.
It's an exercise in bad taste, where it scores highly. It hasn't had any connection to the real world of music for years.

Re: the anti-semitic debate.
I think a lot of people confuse/conflate anti-semitic with anti-Israel.
It's possible to be one without being the other.

You'll need to be looking towards the Northern Horizon, which I suppose means you'll have the city in between. Maybe if you have a run out towards Tollerton, Cotgrave or even Cropwell..you'll have less light pollution between?
The window of the room I was in (without being aware) faced south/west, so it may well have been all happening behind me.

I wish I'd read something about it before it happened. I was indoors but never noticed anything outside in the sky; maybe just facing the wrong direction.
Apparently there's a very good chance they will appear again tonight (Saturday) so I'll be watching and staring.

When the original Hill shop was demolished in Trinity Square, there was a temporary replacement.

And to pass the time for half an hour I sometimes go to Youtube and search 'Pathe'.
You get lots of clips of Britain in the 50s-60s.

What did I miss?
Another spam post, presumably from a Bot, using that strange English which seems to come from a malfunctioning translation app.

Just realised its now 10 years since i joined 'Nottstalgia............Lots happened in that time.....remember in the early days meeting up with 'Mick to me'' and Clifton.....and having coffee in a place down near the Canal in town.......
I remember that meeting. It was the Wetherspoons 'Company Inn' in the old warehouse near the canal. It closed over a year ago and the whole block is now being converted into luxury flats.

I've learned something new today. Never come across 'Abasing' before, and had to look it up.

A bit later than usual but the Cuckoo arrived in full song this morning 06.45,
I've probably said this before, but I don't think I've ever heard a real cuckoo out in the open.
Presumably it's a case of being in the right place at the right time....and I'm not.

Bureaucrats creating jobs for bureaucrats. I looked at the propaganda which came through the door and realised that the whole thing was a complete waste of time and money.

This says a lot about him. Johnson was the person responsible for introducing voter ID.

I think you've got some of mine.
Last time I had two consecutive blanks, the following month I had a new record high, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for next month.

And now I've gone two consecutive months with nothing from Premium Bonds. That's a new record.
And the same thing has now happened again, April and May. I may go somewhere else.
Things aren't what they used to be.

Looking at various local news websites, there are reports of police raids on a cannabis factories on a weekly basis.
The names of the people arrested are usually unpronounceable, with strange combinations of vowels and consonants.
