  2. I HAVE MY Grandads discharge papers (wax finish) from the Army in 1915,he was serving in France and was 15 yrs old.On returning home he promptly joined the navy serving on HMS ROXBURGH for the remainder of the war,men and women of their generation were made of stern stuff.he passed away in 1983 and was 83 yrs old and never talked about the war,its only from his papers that were handed down to me that told me a bit of his story. He was a lovely Grandad to me and if i can be half the man he was i will be proud.

  3. I had a dog from the age of 7 and it was made clear to me your dog you look after it,and i did .when i got a paper round i even paid for the licence,7/6 i think it was.I Loved that dog 'Floss' was her name and the night she died (i was 21 by this time) she barked when i tried to go to bed,i wrapped her in a blanket in front of an open fire and lay with her.next morning she was no more.I buried her very deep on mam and Dads back garden in there best suitcase.

  4. #88 yes tomlinson writing is dying out,all i do now is write a tel no.down or scribble a quick note, and yes Michael i enjoyed 'italics' but it was hard with those old school nibs, and being left handed i was always knocking elbows with the lad next to me,and i am sure them nibs were made for right handers.
