The Old Angel has special memories for me,i had two uncles who were members of their fishing club,and used to take me with em when very young early 50s,then when i was 15 i used to drink in there,until one night i ordered a pint,and a voice behind me said,YOU BUYING ME ONE PAUL? it was my form teacher from school.

The best copper that pulled me,asked me "what do you know about this car?"(for some reason it had been reported stolen) it was a Rover 75 all the gubbins,i replied "its bloody lovely heated seats sun roof terrific sound system etc",he said dont f..k about sir,terific i thought and real bless him.

when i courted (theres on old word) my wife to get her used to nottingham (shes a southerner) i took her up the castle and played the scene with Rachel Roberts and Albert Finney in the same alcove,she thought i was mad,but it worked.

I agree with some of that Michael but not all,yes its their upbringing and thats changed for some and they mean well,but i do believe retail companys could do a lot more in teaching their staff some common curtisies,as for CYNTHIA PAYNE now she was a Madam.lol.

IN MANSFIELD THE OTHER DAY,and i am not saying mansfield is any worse than anywhere else i went in Sportsdirect (not to breast fead) as i walked past the entrance with products the alarm went off, i quiped to an assistant" good job i didnt try to leg it int it" his reply was "you wouldnt have got far" i told him what a pr..k he was and i could still have outrun him,i thought after i should have told him i am not too old to "smash your face in".

NO photos Ann,but he will remember "Reynolds",he might also remember Park Tavern (arnold rd one) football team they played on uniteds ground when it moved to end of Bagnall rd,i played for them 70 to 76 and can reel all their names off even now.
