Went to Bulwell this morning....just for sumat different lol........
Glad i did.....served by my favourite waitress in Kirkby for breakfast........then my other favourite for Espresso in Bulwell...who it seems i knew her Grandma back in the 60s?.....
Then whilst enjoying 'jeromes' was joined by my oldest friend who ive known since 1948 when i was 3 and he was six.....we did it all together when growing up......Football...Cricket...Scrumping...courting.......even worked together for a while.....so naturally had a good Reminisce ........
After that had another encounter with an old school friend from the 50s....the school Goalie at Henry Whipple...looked as if he could still save a penalty or two.............must get to Bulwell more often.......

Today i feel 'Elated''............been to ''Derby Royal Hospital'' for my 5 year check over with the Surgeon who did the operation.......and he said all looked excellent.......to be honest i was worried about what i was going to be told......
Couldn't thank him enough.a.lovely man and obviously a brilliant surgeon..Had a nice chat and told him ''Hope to see you in another 5 years''...
So i'm a lucky chap and hope to keep on Dancing..a while longer......
My OP and 5 years of consultations have all been at the ''Derby Royal''......its almost made me a Derby County Supporter...

On a clear day in the 50s looking North from Padstow school we thought we were looking at Yorkshire........whilst looking south we saw the Trent uni building going up........plus on still evenings anywhere on Old Bestwood you could here the 'Council house clock' striking.....
I've mentioned before that our Geography Teacher the great Mr Thomas'' told us that the school was the highest point if you travelled East until you came to the ;Ural' Mountains in Russia.......all this fascinated me and caused my great love of all things Geographical ........

Even prior to HP being built it was at the top my first school (1950) which were known as the ''Huts''......and the rest of the site was our very own Wembley...Trent Bridge...Meadow lane...City Ground...Lords.....must have stretched nearly half a mile.......we built 'Dens''..had fires''..had football games for every street on Old Bestwood........our little 'Paradise'' where no-one bothered us........driving past now makes me so sad......where's Harry..Charlie..Eric..Nev...Johnny...Dave...Ray...Mick...George...Gordon...Joey..and the rest........
