DAVIDW 1,683
Paul Cotton Sorry to say this but after all that about Joseph Austin Brown above , I can't see a direct connection to a Mary Ann Brown in that immediate family ! In fact Joseph Austin Brown , was only a 1 year old when Mary Ann Brown was married Ed Bolderstone . I can see the marriage of your Mary Ann Brown to Edward Bolderstone . Except he has been wrongly transcribed as Edward "Bollison" . The marriage was in June Qtr , 1877 ref : 7b 153 . You may have to send for the marriage cert. to confirm the name of her father , there may be a connection to the family elsewhere . They are on the 1911 Census BOLDERSTONE, Edward Head, Married 55 b1856 Miner/Hewer Coal .Tannington BOLDERSTONE, Mary Ann Wife Married 34 years 52 b1859 Basford Nottingham After a lot of searching have tracked back Joseph Austin Brown and his parents and grandparents through the census , which may of use to someone , someday . Paul Cotton 2
David, Thank you so much for all your work on this matter. It would seem that I may have been wrongly informed. I am waiting for an email from a relative to see what their memory is of it and if it throws any light on the matter I will post it here. ATB Paul
Cliff Ton 10,467
Found another photo which shows a closer view of Henry Barker Smart & Brown, but you still can't really see the funny windows. And is that a candidate for the missing shops thread - do Turners still exist ?
