DAVIDW 1,684
As far as I know you can't upload a full size image direct from your hard drive to the site . You need to set up a web based account to host your images such as photobucket or flickr . Easy to do and upload images to . Once you have done that , go here and read the faqs for displaying photobucket or flickr images on this site. http://nottstalgia.com/forums/index.php?showforum=
Tony 27
I have no more idea than the man in the moon to upload photographs. I just cannot comprehend the instructions. Mick T has very kindly uploaded all my photographs over the years. Can someone explain simply? Kind regards Tony
Cliff Ton 10,470
Tony, first thing to do is go here http://www.flickr.com/ and then click on the bit which says "Sign Up". And fill in the appropriate bits.
mick2me 3,033
Which is easier Flickr or Photobucket? I use the latter. I have been recently thinking that when we lose members, as we have, we could also lose pictures in their posts! Unfortunately hosting the thousands of pictures that we do could prove expensive, and in the past has been intensive in backing them up. I dont know what the answer is apart from members creating a PB account for their Nottstalgia posts alone and allowing our site admins to know the access information?
Cliff Ton 10,470
Which is easier Flickr or Photobucket? I use the latter. I used Photobucket for many years with no problem, but they recently restyled and changed their site and the way things happen. Since this "improvement" I've noticed many features not working correctly, and various glitches which never happened in the good old days. I've now started a Flickr account. Michael Booth 7,364
Tony, I had the same problem when I joined Nottstalgia so don't think you're on your own...lol. Follow these instructions step by step and see how you go. It would be better if you could print the instructions off so that you've always got them in front of you when putting a photo on Nottstalgia. Click onto Photobucket. Enter Username and Password. Click on 'sign in' (the one next to your password) New page opens. Click on 'Upload'. New page opens You'll see 'Drag N' Drop your Photos and Videos' and underneath this you will see 'Browse Files'. Click on 'Browse files' A new page opens with a 'File Upload' box Click on the place where your photo is. Search for your photo (name of) and double click on it to upload it. A new page appears with your photo and above it you will see a blue box 'View library' Click on this. A new page appears with all your photos on. Choose the one you want to put on Nottstalgia and underneath the photo is a box 'IMG code'. Click on 'IMG code' to turn it blue. Right click on the blue 'IMG code' to open new box and left click on 'Copy'. Find the page on Nottstalgia where you want to put your photo on. Left click in top left corner to get your marker and right click next to this to open new box. Click on 'Paste' A row (or two) of letters and numbers will appear. If you wish to make a comment on the photo then type your message directly under the bottom line of letters/numbers. Click on 'Post' and your photo will appear in the box. If you did a message, that will be under the photo.. Hopefully, it's all gone well but if it hasn't then send me a PM and we'll go through it until we've sorted it.
