Cliff Ton 10,547
Slightly surprised to see these on Boxing Day; first shoots for what will become Bluebells.
carni 10,094
CliffTon, That is a lovely sight to see, it's what i like to call "One of natures freebies", we get them come up in our garden as well, we also get the "Pink Bells". I have had a good look round and i can't see any sign of ours yet, perhaps yours are more sheltered than ours. We also get freebie "Fox Gloves" Purple and White ones, i move them around the garden so i can see them better.
mick2me 3,033
There is a plant outside that has dead stalks on it, but new sprouts from the base? Trees in the garden have buds that look like they are about to burst?
Compo 10,328
Bluebells sprout from the centre of the bulb. The flowing stem then dies back, falls away and the next year's shoot once again arises from the centre of the bulb. Bulbs are coming up a little early up here too. They will get a shock when the real winter arrives!
