Kendaldrac 40
Here is the earliest map i have found from 1862 included in a English Heritage Survey of the Midland Station buildings showing the original station building converted into a goods depot, the second Midland station, level crossing over Carrington Street and the original engine roundhouse. Bilbraborn 1,594
The offices to the goods depot (original Nottingham Station) was our administration office. I went there for my interview when I applied to join the railway in 1978. We also had courses in there, including the (stupid) charm school around 1984/5. But back to station street. The train crew office/signing on point also had the drivers mess room which was a bit of a shabby affair. But the real drivers mess room was the News House on Canal Street or the Granby pub on Station Street. Funny though, it seems to have closed after Driver Stan Pritchard died. StephenFord 866
The Goods offices on Carrington Street are where my dad worked from 1947 until he retired on health grounds in about 1966/7.
