Bad News If You Are a Cat in OZ !

Recommended Posts

Usually feral cats can be attributed to nasty horrible owners who take on kittens then get fed up with the cat digging the garden up. Then dumping the cat in the country side. We have that problem here, city slickers dumping their unwanted cats and dogs along country lanes.

Feral cats are a big problem down here, decimating the wildlife to such an extent that culling is probably the only effective solution.

One example is Phillip Island, renowned for its fairy penguin population. The feral cats are running rampant, entering the burrows to kill the chicks and even killing the adults as they return to the colonies after leaving the sea.

As far as the authorities on the Island are concerned, it is open season on the cats year round!

Feral cats are a big problem here in oz and have been for years, I drive around quite a bit living full time traveling and we see more cats that anything else ! the next would be foxes then rabbits, and even pigs ! all introduced species which have proved successful in living in the wild.

What one has to understand is these cats are no longer little fluffy friendly pets, but grow large (some I have seen are huge) and are very agressive if approached, even the kittens can do serious damage with heir claws if tried to be picked up.

They become very "canny" and will avoid traps and baits almost as if they have a sixth sense, only answer is to shoot them, but the do gooders are against this thinking they can be caught and tamed and re housed, which will never happen.

Definitely the owners in many cases, caftan.

Have you tried this method of washing your cats????

Firstly, lift the toilet lid and the seat ...

Next add some pet shampoo to the toilet bowl.

Go and carefully pick up your sleeping cat and carry it to the bathroom.

Put the cat in the toilet in one smooth movement and close the lid. At this point it would be prudent to stand on the lid because the by now very awake cat will self agitate, causing ample suds to clean it and the toilet at the same time.

Ignore the noises from the cat ... it's probably just enjoying it!

For good measure, flush the toilet two or three times. This will have a Power Wash and Rinse effect, giving your soggy moggy an even more enjoyable experience.

Have someone open the front door and make sure there is nobody in the way and there is a clear run to the garden. Stand well behind the toilet while you quickly lift the lid.

The cat will shoot out of the toilet like it's arse is on fire, rocket into the garden where it will dry itself off.

You will now have a very sparkling toilet and ... one very clean but sulking cat.
