Guest Hugh Janus
"Flat Cap Driver"....I have read a lot of his posts....he "thinks" he is elite...in a way he is in this forum, you can't fault his mesmorising effect...people hang on his every word hence the increased activity that has been mentioned by the administrator The elite are severe freethinkers, the supermen. The elite are somehow better than other people, have got an extra edge. They seem to know something that others don't. It is true (for better or worse) that is elitist in theory, although in practice many individuals do not care too much to compare themselves to others in such a pointlessly aggressive and offensive way. Elitism is not specialisation, and although all specialise and excel in something in particular, the elite can maintain their own in nearly all circumstances and situations. True, confident and knoweldgeable (both about the world and their own shortcomings), the elite are rarely caught off guard, shocked, surprised or easily led astray. Hence the reactions to Flat Cap Driver....he gives better than he gets, but in my humble opinion he speaks from the heart. I know he is a pain in the butt...however what a dull world it would be if everyone towed the Company (forum) line.
Cali Gal 1
"Elite" he may think he is, but it is unacceptable to have idle threats, and childish insults thrown at our members. It is still a thought by several members that he is a troll (someone who tries to disrupt forums). Most of what he posts points in that direction, still other posts have an interesting quality to them. I think he is a troll, but occasionally someone writes something that catches his attention, and causes him to write something of interest on the subject. It sometimes seems like he can't decide whether he wants to disrupt or contribute! Robin, the best website for when you're bored...this one!!! There's mystery, intrigue, sports, music, politics, and one grumpy old man to keep us entertained if all else fails!!...what more could you ask for?!!
Guest Hugh Janus
With all due respect....I can't see how you can recommend this as the best web site. There only appears to be about half a dozen active members. bored

But thats for people "testing" FTA satellite receivers on Dish Network and Bell Express Vue!
ilkolad 9
elite Talking of the Elite, I think the last film I went to see there was 'Bridge on the River Kwai' starring Alec Guinness.. they don't make films like that anymore.. nowadays they merely stuff a couple of named actors into some kind of plot add a film score and rake in the money.. Plus, films nowadays seem to lack content and hold the imagination.. give me the good old Britmovies of late, these were far superior, and in my opinion this era was by far the best years in film making.. ilkolad 9
Yes, an excellent film, but I thought all the coolies were underfed, looking at that guy there he looks a picture of health.. was it just a myth?
Cali Gal 1
The guy in the photo is Bip, silly! Haven't you ever seen the photos he puts in his profile? He changes them frequently.
Ayupmeducks 1,730
Yes, an excellent film, but I thought all the coolies were underfed, looking at that guy there he looks a picture of health.. was it just a myth? The story and bridge were fictitious but based on the building of the Burma railroad by the Japanese with forced allied slave labour. Many British, Australian, New Zealand, Canadian and American POW's lost their lives building that railroad....
Ayupmeducks 1,730
When I was a young apprentice, I worked with an electrician who'd been a POW with the Japanese, I have never worked, or met anyone who hated a race anymore than him, his name was Doug Brompton. He always said, they should have dropped dozens of atomic bombs on Japan! He's probably been dead years now...
