nonnaB 4,903
The poor people of Le Marche and Umbria have another phenomenum to contend with. In the last few days there have been a mixture of mud and clay appearing as riverlets in various places. No one knows where or how they are appearing and now today theres been a river that has just reappeared after 40 yrs. They seem to think that its the result of the recent and ongoing earthquakes. The mountain that has split more than 60 cm and the earth has sunken down 8 cm. Starting tomorrow hard rain is forcast so they are expecting more and more disasters. Please donate to the area to help these people.

nonnaB 4,903
There is an argument going off on tv at the moment . Someone has said that this disaster is a " Divine punishment for the civil unions " Another happening is that in one area the road has Collapsed by quite a bit and the river has now invaded the road and blocked it completely. An unbelievable site this morning all around bricks , dust and rubble was a wooden door standing proud on its own. The people cant take any more and have psicological help. The other day there were over 700 tremors during the day. Thats just one day can you imagine this fear every day and night.

loppylugs 8,429
So sorry to see such damage, Nonna. After the initial tv coverage we have seen nothing on the news like these pictures. My heart goes out to those living in this area and having to cope with the constant threats of more damage. Stay safe out there if you can.
nonnaB 4,903
No let up on the disaster over here. as well as the torrential rain theres been a tornado in Rome. In an apartment block one apartment had lost the bedroom wall ( about 5/6 floors up) the base of the bed is till there hanging around but the matress is missing. The husband aparently just caught his wife being dragged out into the vortex when the tornado hit. When is it all going to end. Last night there were more than 70 tremors. The other day maybe 10 days. Ago there had been over 300 in a period of 24 hrs. How these people are living I dread to think. I have the impression that like a lot of others that Italy will eventually be divided right down the middle.
