Hello,

Would anyone know if there is a map available showing 5, Melsonby Place off Malt Mill Lane in March 1893?  My 2nd great grandmother died there and I’m trying to find out if it was a private residence.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Take care

Jayne

Welcome to Nottstsalgia Jayne.    5 Melsonby Place would've been a classic back-to-back terrace; almost certainly a private residence but owned by a landlord, and rented by your gg-grandmother.

This shows where it was. The road horizontally across the top is Narrow Marsh / Red Lion Street

The map is before the railway was built through the area, and Melsonby would've been right in the firing line, so it may or may not be on this photo, approximately at the arrow.
