Cliff Ton 10,466
I think I've seen it before but it's worth seeing again and being reminded of what the world looked like before I was born. One question which was raised previously concerned the location of the road at 1:19 - 1:37. No-one could recognise it...and I still can't.
notty ash 370
Also the LNER station at 5:44 - can't be Victoria or Midland. Wonder if it might be outside Nottingham, e.g. Leicester Central?
DAVIDW 1,683
Cliff Ton we have discussed this before . These same clips are featured in the film "They Knew Mr Knight" . Presume these location shots were filmed by the same crew . We identified most locations , the only mystery location was the row of terraced houses that appears after the opening factory shots in the film above. The screenplay writer Mrs Whipple , wife of Henry Whipple lived on Ebury Rd so we thought that area featured . Someone identified the station as Leicester .
DAVIDW 1,683
Crikey it was 7 years ago we discussed it ! https://nottstalgia.com/forums/topic/11782-they-knew-mr-knight/
Cliff Ton 10,466
I knew I'd seen it before but I'd forgotten about the link with 'Mr Knight'. If the mystery station is Leicester, then the mystery road might also be there.
