Ashley 288
British Waterways used (still do?) to sell off confiscated/abandoned boats, you just made an offer and they took best one, this one belonged to a bloke in prison so obviously not paying river licence or mooring fee's! and was tatty with seized inboard engine, nobody even bid on it! It was in the yard/basin off meadow lane opp forest ground, River was in flood so had to wait till safe to move, when I went to collect it had gone! just snapped mooring lines! suspect tied too tight and when level dropped boat virtually hanging there till ropes snapped, went out on police boat and found it jammed up against wier minus top half of cabins and wheelhouse "decapitated" via chain stretched across the gates, think BW dragged it out and burnt it! Dick Hatts 1
Yay! that's the very picture they had in the pub. No need for me to go in for a pint and smuggle it out now :-)
