rob237 89
Many thanks for the superb map collection, that you've posted. Surprising to see, on this 1905 map,how many earlier place spellings still apply... "...on-the-Woulds","Ratcliff etc..." Cheers Robt P.

Ashley 288
I see the old railway line "route of the M1" under Hucknall to Watnall road is shown, used to love that road when on motorbikes, some great bends and you could get airborne on the old bridge! At nearly the end of it just before sharp right hander going towards Watnall were a couple of ex RAF buildings, decided to explore them one day, typically police came by and seeing my bike stopped. Got the 3rd degree, but once they realised I wasn't some Russian spy or lead thief (was on the roof!) and just a harmless nutter told to go on my way, not even a produce your documents! Moorgreen reservoir is also clearly seen, remember being chased by gamewarden there when swimming another time, if memory serves me right he was murdered by poachers in about 1970? This site will provide the answers if you dig around for a couple of minutes hello thanks ,i have been digging around for two weeks . the streets were there in the 1960s but not now i think the area was cleared
Cliff Ton 10,481
Is this the area you are referring to? This map from the 1950s looks very similar to the way things are today. There doesn't appear to be anything which was cleared or demolished. Even the road names are still the same
