Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire 1905

Many thanks for the superb map collection, that you've posted.

Surprising to see, on this 1905 map,how many earlier place spellings still apply...

"...on-the-Woulds","Ratcliff etc..."

Cheers

I see the old railway line "route of the M1" under Hucknall to Watnall road is shown, used to love that road when on motorbikes, some great bends and you could get airborne on the old bridge! At nearly the end of it just before sharp right hander going towards Watnall were a couple of ex RAF buildings, decided to explore them one day, typically police came by and seeing my bike stopped. Got the 3rd degree, but once they realised I wasn't some Russian spy or lead thief (was on the roof!) and just a harmless nutter told to go on my way, not even a produce your documents! Moorgreen reservoir is also clearly seen, remember being chased by gamewarden there when swimming another time, if memory serves me right he was murdered by poachers in about 1970?
