  1. Being born and bred in Nottingham and married to a man who has a real Nottingham (Radford) accent I do recognise the real thing, not evident in S N/S M. Heaven forbid I should sound like any of it, I think it is one of the worst accents you could have. If I have upset anyone then I am sorry, this is just my opinion. A crazy crazy NB A friend came to see me yesterday and asked- 'ey ya gor eni munnay' this was for the shop...
  2. Thank goodness you don't have to buy the CD, the kids would have me in a home before you could say knife! Quite a few names on that site ro conjour with, not heard of any of them but Mr O'Donnell. Thank you for the education bit. A crazy crazy
  3. Did a web search on his name and I think you are having a go, came across this during my perusing. Easier to look at than downloading. http://www.posiesrodsandcustoms.com/custom...-brendon-quinn/ Hope you enjoy. A crazy crazy

  5. In the mail they didn't speak of capping, I suppose this is to be mentioned at a later date. I have around six months to go and then I can shop around if I hit any problems. The capping is not really a problem to me as I don't download that much, but I think it is a liberty for the people who do use it a lot. I'm with them... A crazy crazy
  6. Have just been informed by email that NTL are uprating the speed of my broadband from 300k to 1mb, this will be completed by the end of October at no extra cost to myself, mmmm one always thinks that you get nothing for nothing.... I shall wait with baited breath. A crazy crazy
  7. Strange as it may seem, I like tripe(or used to) before it was mixed with onions and milk. I used to help my dad eat his with salt and pepper and vinegar on it. As you say it is an aquired taste. Are Pilchards small herrings and sardines small pilchards? Is this the life span of the fish? Don't like any of them to that extent, as for chewing the backbone, yuk... A crazy crazy
  8. Which branch of the Reader's Digest is this, then? A crazy crazy
  9. Do you remember the tripe shop on Wollaton Street? It was almost opposite the Gaumont cinema. When the family went to the cinema we would then go in this establishment and order tripe and onions, a bit of dark would be the cry. Revolting stuff!!! I would always have bangers and mash, much more civilised. Pigs chitterlings were a favourite of my mums, she would get them from La Rouches on Ilkeston Road I think it was. We also liked mushy peas from the Newmarket. Many moons ago... A crazy crazy
  10. Don't know, not posted for a while. He will return to haunt the site eventually. Just when we all think it is safe to come out of the woodwork he will be there waiting to pounce. A crazy crazy

  13. We have Philidelphia and all its add ons. I use Phili and cream cheese, which is also hard to come by, to make cheesecake. I like the Phili with chives, on toast with a hot cappucino. A
  14. Found this on the net if you want to make your own: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/sherwoodtimes/brother.htm That is the page it comes from. A
  15. Is that the fore runner of today's cottage cheese, only worse? My grandmother used to make it, milk was left to go sour and then drained through a muslin cloth. It was hung outside on the clothes line, not with pegs, until it had stopped dripping and then seasoned and eaten. Disgusting stuff, akin to tripe and onions and chitterlings. Yuk!!! A tease
  16. I braved it, what about you lot???? A crazy crazy crazy
  17. As far as I know it is a saying that people use when they have been particularly canny in evading the issue. It goes, 'You have to catch a weasel asleep to p--s in its ear' A crazy

  21. I know this is an old topic but it is interesting. This was posted when you were all behaving yourselves and BIP was not so strange. In one of the photos you have the pub Generous Brittain on the corner of Newdigate Street and Alfreton Road, on the right hand side of the road was where I first started work in 1959. The factory was called G T Hussey and they made high class outerwear. It was strange to see the name after all these years but interesting to read you posts. The Spread, as I have said before was run by Eddie Cartwright and the Alma was run by the Dobnys. The Indian Rester
  22. Did anyone go to the Yachting Club, Trent Bridge, and watch The Xciters? They were the next best thing to the Rolling Stones, or so they seemed at that age. How about the Log Cabin at Watnall I think it was. The Creepers, more commonly called The Miners Welfare on Nutthall Road? A tease tease tease

  24. The results on this one suprised me to say the least. They are so true to the job I used to do. I knew I was in the right job when I first joined. A Have you tried the color one on the same site? That's interesting
  25. Who would want to live in a small terrace house in London? certainly not me. I live in a three bedroomed semi with a garden and fields as far as the eye can see. I don't give a monkey's how much it is worth or if comes up to my neighbours expectations, it suits us down to the ground. A Shock
