  1. Or motorists who fail to indicate into the road you are waiting to exit from...so annoying.
  2. It was I who performed the survey for the remedial work that is now being carried out by onsite contractors. Nice little earner that one
  3. Nah, Im a Forest lad mesen I would of known, besides 7am you wouldnt be down there at that time for a 3pm kick off where ever the match was, besides they were also there during the close season, must of been the traders in those avenues, veg suppliers etc. Oh and Scarrot was a wimp without his ickle kiddies in tow...
  4. I think Ive just dawned on, they must of been the early traders from Sneinton Market?
  5. Surprised that no one has mentioned the massive drug raid on the Dungeon in the mid sixties, it made headline news with scores of revellers being arrested, I made one brief visit there with a mate but very soon discovered it was not for the leather clad biker that we were back then, we soon made a sharp exit Not seen Stu around town for some years now, I remember around 1992 when I used to pass the Peggers on the way to Colwick there would be a crowd of around 300 gathered outside drinking, this was roughly 7am on a Saturday morning!! anyone know what that was all about?
  6. I normally go on the 'yesterdayoncemore' weekends depending where the venue is but its either Brean Sands or Butlins Skeggy. I remember we once waited five hours to see the Troggs at Caister, they were due on stage at 9pm and turned up at 2am, Reg was very nasty that night when he explained that they were stuck in traffic after an accident...he doesnt hold back that lad...
  7. Anybody else remember other Nottingham bands that were around when the Fables were on the scene? I remember The Deuces and Sons and Lovers http://www.sonsandlovers.co.uk/ABOUT%20US.htm Im sure there was another band called Traffic (not Stevie Winwood's band)
  8. They do a lot of gigs in Germany and Austria, they also performed at the concert hall a few years ago, they are doing a UK tour with the Animals and Spencer Davis in November which may include Notts, They normally do 60s weekends at Brean Sands but I cant see them listed for this year with 'yesterdayoncemore'... http://www.yesterdayoncemore.co.uk/sixties/60s.php Their website... http://www.my-generation.org.uk/Troggs/
  9. Yes they are Mick, one of my favourite groups, I see them quite often at the 60s weekends I often go to, Reg Presley often says 'we started a tour in 1966 and its still going' Legends.
  10. Got my bearings now Bro when you mentioned petmart, I also heard they are also building a Tesco service station on the site of the the cow pub, famous punk venue in times gone by...
  11. But what you see is for your eyes only, nobody else can see the info you see, as per viewer they will see their info.
  12. Are they building a tesco? or do you mean the present Sainsbury's site?
  13. Those lights at Trowell Road Co-op have been a nightmare for weeks, complete waste of time trying to shop there cos there is no way of getting out toward balloon wood because its bumper to bumper. Im absolutely certain that this council have deliberately created their own congestion, the classic example is the prodtruding kerbed platforms for stepping on and off buses, what used to be two lanes each side of Aspley Lane is now virtually one each way, there used to be enough room to go around buses before they installed these stupid platforms now you have to wait until the bus decides to move o
  14. Why would the Forest faithful want Man Utd to win BEFORE the disaster? surely your work colleagues were referring to their first match after the disaster which was against Forest at Old Trafford and ended in a draw.
  15. Mansfield? are you getting confused with Ric Lee who also played in the band? Graham grew up on Sutton Passeys Cresent and attended Margaret Glen Bott in Wollaton, he lived a few doors from my first girlfriend. he also worked for Weller engineering on Wigman Road for a short while after leaving school.
  16. Correct Stu, anyone remember him when he fronted the Jaybirds who often played in the Cocked Hat on Thursday nights befor forming Ten Years After? Alvin Lee - The only Notts man to front a band at the original Woodstock Fesival in 69...

  18. Did locally born Graham Barnes have?
  19. The post office next door was run for many years by Gerald Clough, brother of Sir Brian, it was not unusual to see the great man behind the counter on Sunday mornings.
  20. Not now Den, I drove up the track last week, they are building what looks like factory units.
