  11. Just having got back from Florida, this year we flew from Manchester. Cheap flight, too bloody cheap. It's now so cheap to go that the plane was full of the worst people I have ever travelled with. Now I am no snob but what must the Americans think of the British seeing these 'Hillbillies'disimbark the aircraft. :o The 'Brits' have the worst behaved kids in the world! That's why we get out of Orlando and down to the Keys, to get away from the wretched British. <_<
  12. 1908, the Trustees of Trent Bridge Cricket Ground decided not to renew the club's lease when it expired in 1910. Forced to look elsewhere, the club moved rapidly to rent ground from the City Council on Meadow Lane and the new County was ready for the opening of the 1910/11 season. The stand at Trent Brtidge (that stood where the Taverners Stand is now) was dismantled and taken to the new site at the Meadow Lane end. A main stand and a cover for the side of the ground were built during the close season, to the design of architect Mr. Shepherd. Earth was dumped in order to form the kop. There w
  13. Tinkers Leen, a stream that runs underground to the River Trent. The towpath crosses a canal over-spill weir which runs into Tinkers Leen near the point where it disappears underground. The entrance into the underground channel can be see alongside the towpath while upstream the Leen runs parallel to the canal for a while. The land alongside Tinkers Leen is preserved for inner-city wild life. Further west (but still within Nottingham city centre) on the opposite bank is Castle Quay which now has new commercial buildings on it which face the canal. From Canals & Waterways - Routes & R
