  1. Sure is Bip - spent a measley £10 with me Braised Beef plateful of nosh. After the couple of days I'd just spent up in Rochdale trying me best to drink 'em dry, I was ready for a top up.
  2. Spot on Bamber - it's off Forman Street. It's so small it's no wonder I've passed it many times without realising. I'll nip down and take a pic with my new Nikon
  3. Anyone know where it is? Saw it today for the first time and I've only lived here for 54years!!! Sorry - didn't have my camera handy
  4. Yeah - but what I don't understand is why the page layout decides to change on it's own???? One minute I'm looking at the festive Christmas layout and the next I'm seein' some'at else? is it me or the Harvest pale??
  5. Here's a little pub we visited on Boxing day up in Knaresborough - Free BEER! The treat was for all who visited the annual boxing Day Tug of War over the river. Excellent.
  6. 1852. thats 100 years before I was born http://www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham/entertainm...hipstones.shtml I can still taste the best bitter ever made in Nottingham. HB was too sweet for my palette as was HH, although I do like the HH Old Trip - sadly no more. The old Shipstones Social Club on Radford Road, now the Horse & Groom is a really nice boozer with excellent beer and great food. http://www.horseandgroombasford.com/ Until recently, (they moved out) I used to look over the Air Conditioning in the offices of Scottish & Newcastle in the old Shippo's factory. Sad day when it all
  7. Hi Plantfit. I remember the very hall you speak of. Spent a few hours there meself. There was also one across the road under the Evening Post building before it was refurbished. I remember when we were workin' on the Theatre Royal refurb after they demolished the Theatre hotel we used to go across in the lunch break for a game. Some days the game used to go on 'til home time

  13. It was called the INTERCON when it first opened in 1974. 3 levels of dance floors and 'restaurant' - saw Thin Lizzie there - crap live!!
  14. Hi Stan It's an Americanism for a bloke walking round with his flies open, wedding tackle out and "excited" - if you know what I mean. I think it is supposed to relate to something like the handle on a saucepan
  15. We saw one in Key West Florida that said "No Panhandling" Well, the place is full of queers
  16. It was the Miltons Head surely?
  17. I bet 1FatBloke is in mourning after reading this mornings news http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2478610,00.html
  18. Wish I had ANYTHING on my computer after the disaster of the 26th November 2006 which no doubt will go down in the annals of history as the day that Frank lost both his C hard drive and D hard drive on his desktop computer. All I did was plug in a new USB card reader so that I could load my piccies of the weekend spent down the NEC at the Food & Drink show (yeah, I was pi**ed again). After that it just would not see the drives and refused to boot. Looks like I've either got to a) fit new drives and get on with it or B) carry on using the laptop or c) go out and drown my sorrows An
  19. I'll go with Stoney Street looking from Barker Gate toward Parliament Street
  20. I know that the Council House wasn't there at the time the photo was taken - I just used it as a reference for where the piccy was taken - Doh!!
  21. I would assume that the view is from the Council offices looking East with the 'Bird Cage' pub on the left. What is the tall chimney? Anyone know? - some sort of factory down Meadow Lane?
  22. I'll go with lookin from near the Fox pub toward the City Hospital island and the area on the left is the High School playing fields
  23. Would that be the FADE (hard to find cafe)? Popped in there for a swift half of Erdinger wheat beer cos' it was 15mins till me bus and it was blowin' a gale up Mansfield Road http://www.citikey.com/business/10076876?c...nt=62&total=128
  24. Too late Den Me and the missus ( on the Guinness again) were in there from 2.45 till about 5. Think I supped all the Harvest Pale that they had. Anyroadup, just leave some coin behind the bar and I'll have that pint later in the week. I'm workin' at Nottm Trent most of the week and I might pop in on me way home
  25. Do you realise that the small 'dash' between the date you were born and the date you die (died) signifies your whole life Hope mines one hell of a long dash
