Me and the present mrs Frank were married in St Barnabas Cathedral on the 22 Aug 1970. I remember standing outside with my best mate/man looking across at the Strathdon Hotel (one of the few in Nottingham that still has the original name) thinking - mmmmmmm, wish it was finished and the bar was open. Never got the chance to have a 'nerve steadier' before the ceremony.

I used to be a regular mid week eater at the Miltons Head when it re-opened as a Berni in the Viccy Centre. Opened in 1974 but didn't last long. Can anyone remeber the original name of the nightclub that also used to be in the Viccy centre? - spread over 3 floors in the basement, now part of the car park.

We moved into the Hyson Green Flats shortly after getting married in 1970. I remember that you could do all your shopping on the Green without having to go into town. The butcher used to have a Pork Farms pork pie cut into little slivers so you could taste one before buying -mmmmmm. We had our first colour tv there as well, as the flats were all wired for Redifusion.
