  2. It was working when I posted it.... What have you done?
  3. Why we should wear masks. The urine test. Click on the link.
  4. Well I took my Civic for a jaunt from Billinge down to the A58.. along to the A 570 'Rainford By-Pass' as far as the M58, then back via the same route. 19.9 miles, so the best part of half a gallon of petrol wasted. Stil.. it was nice to see how the trees and hedgerows have 'filled out' since I last drove. I'll do similar with Mrs Col's old shed of a Punto tomorrow. Earlier this evening we took delivery of a Tesco online shop. I think we're probably OK for about six months now..... It took me over an hour to wipe everything with bleach solution and my hands are sore
  5. I wish you all well Nonna.
  6. Today I'm going to check the tyres on the cars and then take each for a little spin to clean up the brake discs and boost the batteries. I ordered a new battery charger last night because the last one died some years ago. This lock down is thrilling. In other news.. on Facebook.. my son in law posted this brilliant quote from my ten year old Grandson... "It's not up to us whether we can go out.. It's up to Boris Johnson.. And he's not that smart.."
  7. Me too Margie. And thanks for posting Enigma. Marianne was never a great singer.. but her chart hits were all very well chosen songs which played to the 'fragile' personna she presented.
  8. Mary. Please lighten up. My comment was to Brew, and concerned the way he ( jokingly ) 'dissed' my efforts at cutting my own hair. It was not in any way aimed at you. Just because you were a Hairdresser does not mean that every use of the word is aimed at you.
  9. You know talent when you see it Brew! (Except in Hairdressing.. obviously)
  10. Meanwhile.. My day is just winding down from doing very little to doing bugger all. I've been a bit below par with an ear problem.. but I'll survive. In the background I'm listening to a Smokey Robinson Hyde Park Concert from... I think 2014 on BBC4. Even with someone of his stature it's easy to forget how many great songs he has written.. not just for himself and the Miracles. but for practically every Motown artist in the book. Mrs Col said she thought his voice wasn't quite as good... He's been recording since the late 1950s and is now 80 years old... I think
  11. Or 'end up dead after touching a cable.' I'm shocked Jim.. but not as much as you....
  12. I seem to recall having a 'Perry Como' briefly.... it didn't last... A couple of years later I started to assert my emerging manhood by refusing to get it cut at all.
  13. Ooooohhh you can be so cutting.....
  14. Think 'squared off' was the wrong term Mary. I didn't mean a Boston.. I meant just cut into a definite line rather than 'fizzling out'. Anyway, for a couple of years I've been considering going to a 3, or a 2 all over. I forced myself into a 2 by having a little 'accident' . I'll let it all grow out a bit and try a 3 all over... but I reckon I'll end up with a 2.
  15. Ben, I also went to Osborne's and the Criterion Boowul. Also to the horrible bloke along from Criterion towards market on same side. Had a proper old style Barber's pole outside. Croome's near the crossing too. Went once to the one in the row of shops opposite Laxton Ave. on Highbury Rd. Very iffy bloke.. Never went there again... What was the one in Trinity Walk.. Pepper's?
  16. No danger of a comb over here Margie. I've always been of the view that when it's gone, it's gone and I won't hide the fact. As it is I'm a touch thin around the crown but otherwise not too bad for an owd un.
  17. Ha!! No poncey Skin'd geet faar in Billinge. Ee'd gerris braces wrapped rahnd 'is neck an a good slappin wi a flat cap!!
  18. I made a few mistakes but I think I got away with them.. I've christened it the 'Strangeways Look' Having reached such a high level of skill and artistry in just one cut..and since my long term hairdresser has now retired.. I'm going to do all my coiffure in future and save myself about £80 per year. It all helps.
  19. No respect for talent and artistry on here.....

  21. Two quotes and one of 'em empty... .. Yo'll cop it if Red sees that!!!
  22. Good case to be made for having several water butts I'd have thought PP. ... In a few minutes I'm going to have a go at cutting my hair using my Wahl beard trimmer. My normal cut is 'No.2' on the sides and 'No.4' on top, all expertly blended by my hairdresser. I only have 1-3 combs for my trimmer so I think my best bet is No.3 all over then see how awful it looks before proceeding... maybe I can sort of bleed 2 into 3.. but probs best left alone... Hairdresser usually squares off the neck for me.. which will be a 'two mirror' job for me. Should be fun..
