  2. Does any one know of any other names that Stadium Leisure at Basford was previously known by?
  3. We used to go to Central Park (behind Palais) in the 80's and to a club on Huntingdon street we would cut through the Owd Boots pub to get there. I remember Eddie Kidd opening it but cant remember the name of it.

  6. not sure i thought it was Stirland Trailer Fitters (or something similar) Dad went on to work for Redferns after Bill finished, there was a very dodgy accountant (or thats what he said he was) called Warick. Was based at Hartley Road for a while and then up at Ilkeston.

  8. Derek is still alive and kicking, he is my dad and Maggie is my Mum. (they are still up the Green too) Bob Rutter well the beer was bound to get him in the end. Johnny Knowles moved to America but visits quite a few times a year so will pass on your message next time he pops in

  10. Lucy Kelly is also dead, As is Ron Dyer but Johnnie Knowles is still alive and kicking (saw him at Christmas at my mum and dads house). I remember Bill when he was at Northgate in Basford many moons ago
  11. Thanks for al the info. The picture i have where taken on my old phone show more details of the graves as we climbed over and flattened some of the overgrowth to get to them. I will get them off my laptop tonight and upload them for you. Think the watertower fits with the steps too

  13. hi Yes they are the steps i am asking about. Driving me mad trying to figure out what they are. When we look at pictures of the hall it doesn't look the same as these staps as these go right up to a porch like area on the ruins that we have seen and visable on the link. Lisa
  14. hello again. My daughter and i have revisited the burial ground and managed to get in side. we took some photos of the 4 very grand graves in there . If anyone is interested in them please let me know. The plot was very overgrown with brambles and bracken and was hard work. Also can any one tell me what the area near the plot is. it is raised and has steps leading up to it. sorry i cant copy the picture from google earth put if the plot is at the top of the page the area i mean is to the bottom near (behind) Trough Lane Also does anybody know if and where the was a water tower in Watnall
  15. i lived on Egypt Road and then Northgate as a child but that was 70's - 80's before that i lived on Ainsley Estate.
  16. The family burial plot is still there in the middle of a cow field and looks like it is still maintained. It is a walled plot with railings with a huge tree in the middle of it. it is visable on google maps
