  1. Just over a week to go before the next Nottstalgia invasion of Lincolnshire, or as we like to call it Aviation day it is on the 26th August and it looks like we will start from the Petwood hotel again (around 08.30-09.00) with some Dambuster memories and coffee, look forward to seeing you all Rog
  2. It wouldn't surprise me if Biggs didn't drink Greene King beer Pete!!!!!!! Sorry Rog
  3. Did anyone ever drink Brown and Mild or Double Diamond? Rog
  4. As stated in an earlier post, Thorpe camp is open on Wednesdays (not been visited by the Nottstalgians yet) and the Lanc Just Jane does taxi runs on Wednesdays plus the usual Typhoon, Tornado's, Harriers and whatever else drops in at Coningsby, Waddington, Cranwell, no doubt coffee's at the Petwood and ham and eggs in the Blue Bell, there is also a new book shop opened up in Woodhall Spa that is full of aviation titles, they also serve coffee Rog
  5. Forgot to mention in the last post, Thorpe camp is open on Wednesdays so could tie in well with aviation tour Rog
  6. Ayup Ian, The 26th looking OK at the moment, will confirm in a few days time, not much activity at the moment but most stuff been taking off after lunchtime and heading north east, 8 took off yesterday within 5 mins of each other and 2 of them went vertical, still headed north east though. catch you all later Rog
  7. Jonesy, don't just go that way on the off chance, make a point of turning right when you are in Coningsby village drive about a mile up the road and the Typhoons,Tornado's and Harriers are parked on the hard standing near the viewing area alongside the road Rog
  8. Ayup Pete, In your picture No 24 what is the name of the brickyard in the background possibly Barrow Hill? it just bought back some memories of my time in a brickyard in Nottingham, good to see a Hoffman kiln again after all these years Rog
  9. He sounds like a potential recruit for one of our aviation days, keep your eyes open for the next date, any ideas yet Ian? Rog
  10. Quite right Pete i went to Heckington country show, I'll post a couple of pics in the week but for some reason I took more pictures in the flower arranging tents and only a few of tractors, old motor cycles and 2 steam engines, don't know why I've gone mad with the flower displays, perhaps me age Rog
  11. bu99er!!!!! could have been at Muskham well in time to see that but didn't read your post until 19.30 hrs, just goes to show, you should keep your eye's on Nottstalgia web site all the time Rog
  12. I'm working as well Pete, this weekend is my weekend off next weekend on so have been to the Heckington country show where the Lanc put in an appearance, shame about next week though it would be good to meet up again Rog
  13. Great pics Ian, I saw that same Spitfire/Typhoon display over my office on Thursday afternoon but didn't have me camera with me, DOH, I wonder why No 11 squadron is doing the display this year instead of the usual 29 Squadron, I see the computer on board the Typhoon is working overtime with the flaps and canard fins to keep her flying that slow and no doubt the Spitfire was using all it's power to stay ahead of the Typhoon, they should put that display in at all the airshows Rog
  14. Nice pics Pete, put em in a book!!!! I see number 5957 is pulling a diesel was the steamer on rescue duties? you can nearly always rely on steam Rog
  15. My little patch of the Mediterranean in Lincolnshire, don't know why because I,ve never been there, the arch is now covered in blue clematis and passion flowers but the yukka has died back Rog
  16. I did hear he wants to adopt a Red Arrows pilot and just let him out on display days Rog
  17. Hi Pete thanks for the comments, can't recall a ticking noise from the valve gear but she was going fast, as I said everything sounded so smooth and well fitted as you would expect from GWR loco's, I took one picture as she was coming head on through Whisby nature reserve about 3/4 mile down the track and hoped the camera could sort itself out for another shot before she passed me so no deliberate camera settings to get the motion blurred, it's just as it was, won't be able to make next weeks ECML run of Bittern as I'm going to Heckington steam and country fair but if it's returning later that
  18. firbeck/Mick/Ashley thought you might like this taken tonight at Whisby / Thorpe level crossing about 10 minutes after leaving Lincoln, she was going at a fair rate of knots but sounded so smooth Rog
  19. Saw it today in the sidings at Great Northern Terrace Lincoln but didn't have me camera with me as we only went to Lincoln to do the weekly shop, might try to get to Whisby near the crossing for the return trip though, thanks for the info Rog
  20. Spot the Typhoon pilot, I took this just as I was leaving Waddo show, they were in the Typhoon tent hence poor lighting Rog
  21. Don't look like it flew at Yeovilton either, hydraulic problems Rog
  22. Great pics Pete, The 190 looks a treat and I just love the WW1 stuff Rog
  23. Should've been throttled at birth
  24. Just been announced on Lincs FM that the white elephant, oops I mean the Vulcan has now got all it's paperwork in place to display at air shows so I will keep my eyes open tomorrow for it leaving Waddo for Yeovilton, If anyone is in the Waddo area today/tonight the Vulcan is parked alongside the E3s AWACS at the Lincoln end of the airfield Rog
