  2. there's quite a few people in the asda at 06.00, the idea of going that early is the shopping is out of the way and the rest of the day is our own, bit of a bind getting up an hour or so earlier than usual but worth it' B, don't know about action man more like inaction man this past few days with this cold and windy weather but summer is forecast for one day in May this year so looking forward to getting all the outdoor jobs done on that day, Tomorrow is car wash day and get it fuelled up, maybe a bit of work in the greenhouse too Rog
  3. Afraid not Phil, up early (04.30) this morning, breakfast and coffee then off to the asda at Hykeham for the weekly shop, home by .6.45, more coffee, watched that clown Henry Cole (shed and buried) for half an hour then in the shed to do a bit of woodwork, cutting out new arms and legs for the next batch of gollyfrogs and frogs, then back indoors by 09.00 and thats where I stayed for the rest of the day, bloody cold here although that wind has now dropped and the sun has just started to appear eleven hours too late, never mind there's always tomorrow, hope everyone else has had a good day
  4. That would be Sandtoft I think, some trolley buses there including a couple of NCT ones Rog
  5. Lincolnshire transport museum Hykeham open days 30 June 27 October free admission, refreshments available at reasonable cost also open Sundays 11.00 till 16.00 but no buses running then A few pics of what they have Plenty more on show than these few Rog

Didn't know Camms had one of those, good bit of info there Marrowman, still waiting to get over to Ruddington heritage place to see some of their vehicles, hopefully this summer, I live not far from the Lincolnshire transport heritage museum and that's worth a visit, sometimes having open days and free bus rides in their vintage buses Rog
  7. Used to be nice pies from Odlings in Navenby but the younger side of the family took over and got greedy putting prices up and lowering quality, soon went bust, we do have a nice butchers down at Bassingham another family run butchers and they have excellent prize winning pork pies Rog
  8. Already painted that on Pianoman, Any idea about the seats colour, I think I remember them being red and the upstairs had the long seats as opposed to the doubles in two rows Rog
  9. Stripped this one down today ready for a bit of updating to the interior and putting some colour on the bonnet as I don't think the original full size version had that light colour but the same colour as the dark paint, WBUDC bus that used to run out of the old Broad Marsh bus station to Clifton via Trent Bridge and Wilford This model is slightly larger than my 1/76 scale one not sure if this isn't 1/50 scale, I've been meaning to getting round to changing this one since some very constructive comments from Pianoman a couple of years ago when I first posted about it
  10. A few humans settle for a cigarette after (you know what) but from what you say hogs have a BBQ, could that be called a celebration of his/hers success? the mind boggles Rog
  11. Rain forecast for rest of the week so I won't bother washing the car, bloody cold today, just come back indoors after an hours work in the shed, couldn't be bothered to switch the gas fire on so my own fault for getting cold Rog
  12. Can someone please tell me what day summer is this year as I really need to wash my car Rog
  13. "Rutting procedure" priceless, Notts folk never cease to amaze me with their quirky sayings, bless you Mrs B Rog
  14. Barrie, keep an eye open for the post over next couple of days Rog
  15. Not forgetting CT you have to be a member to look at the political thing I think so someone just browsing wouldn't have access to the thread anyway, I can however confirm that that "setting a preference to ignore a particular person" does work Rog
  16. The Olde pork pie shop is being re furbished so the front is all boarded up and the entrance is now round the side but didn't see too many folk around there either Phil Rog
  17. Been to Melton Mowbray market today, not a great deal going on, a lot of empty stalls in the covered "tat" market and not many people about, the street market was worse half the stalls missing compared to two years ago, I got talking to a lady who owns the Mrs B's cafe and she said today the market is a lot bigger to what it has been of late so it must have been very poor, shops wise once again a lot have closed down and now empty, there are however plenty of Vape shops, barbers, mobile phone repair shops and a smattering of the usual charity shops, I did see one butchers shop with a queue out
  18. Got no interest in the politics thread whatsoever but some find it interesting so get on with it, I try to post what I've been on with during the day or the garden and hobbies threads but not everyone likes those threads, the historical side of Notts should have more posts I think because they are of members memories, I don't know what the answer is to creating more posts, we need to attract new members how we do that I don't have a clue, maybe a "welcome to new members" section and encourage them to post their thoughts and memories Rog
  19. Nice little trinket given to me the other day, a pin badge of the Raleigh heron, We were given a pin badge when I worked in the fabrication shop at the Raleigh for a couple of years early/mid 90's, unfortunately I lost mine many years ago but a good friend of mine who worked in the design office came to my rescue the other week and gave me this one, I have put it next to a twenty pence piece for scale Rog
  20. Thanks Jill, I'll stick to the usual then Rog
  21. This morning I was walking around Newark and stopped on the market to pick up the usual bags of wild bird food and I notice on the shelf was bags labelled "Hedgehog food", never seen that before so next week I'll pick a bag up and try it out on the ones in my garden Rog
  22. Apparently half of it is close for a refurb or sommat so didn't bother, might go when it's all finished though always a good day out there, there is a lot of groundworks going on at the station too Rog
  23. Had a lovely day out in York today, checked the weather forecast before setting off and it looks like being a nice day but rain coming in about 14.30 so off we went, bit of traffic on the A1 for some bridge repairs north of Barnsley but other than that it was a nice drive, used the park and ride at Askham Bar, £2.40 for the two of us which was nice, first off we went for a cuppa at the Castle tea rooms plus scrambled eggs on toast just under a tenner for both of us, then a walk around all the tourist routes including a walk around the wall and a riverside walk looking at the pleasure boats, ni
