He lived a long while in Polesworth I signed him up to the RAC in 1990 and he was still there in 2001 when I dropped into the coop in Tamworth and mentioned it to the RAC man on duty (he said he still saw him occassionaly doing his shopping) I know it don't mean he was still living there but it's a bit too much of a coincidence

The levi ad is Nick Kamen he had hits himself with "Each time you break my heart" (his biggy) made number 5 stayed in the chart for 12 weeks in 1986 and 4 smaller hits up to "I promised myself" in 1990. I think he was championed by Madonna my favorite ad music was the old Cathay Pacific (airlines) ad that used a piece of music called the flower duet from Madam Butterfly (I think)

I know its a bit late to respond to this (or if any one will even read it) but the late great Edwin Starr was living in Polesworth on the Leicestershire /Staffordshire border the last I heard.I actually signed him up for the RAC when I was working in the coop at Tamworth.Very nice man to talk to much missed .

I the affor mentioned Ian Sheppard of no sound mind or fixed aboad( like Roger and pete smith) spent many happy days of my youth gaining meanful employ and sustenance in the affor mentioned arriba club partaking and imbibing of many an intoxicating substance to whit the cheapest beer Alan could by at the cash and carry on canal street and I thoughrerly ? enjoyed myself guilty as charged your honour p.s. weren't you with me most of the time Mick? and then afters at the poonam on Thurland street !hungry! !cheers!

  18. I went to senior school with Lynn Goldingay (Frank Wheldon comp in Carlton)and remember the story very well your man radfordred got the story spot on

The new welbeck was a berni inn next door to chelsea girl (great short cut through there to the old 72/39 bus stop for carlton) you used to be able to see over the changing room doors (cow boy salloon style swing doors )and see the girls getting changed . I know pervert I hear you say, but that could be where you get that cowboy theme from you perve!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We used to call her Beehive cos of the hair do,and the house was near knipton in the vale (back of Belvoir castle ) and yes the pub that got the door bricked up was the Windmill although some of the internal scenes were filmed just up the road in the Peacock I used to drink in the Windmill in the late 80's (played pool for them and stayed over a couple of times when I had had a bit too much to drink!! ) The land lord (Matt ) used to tell us some funny stories about the filming sessions there. My ex fiance (Alison) worked at Asda when they filmed there.
