It might be of interest for you to know that I worked for Mr Pearson on his farm at the top of Southcliffe road when I was about 8 year s old helping with the milk round. I don't know if you remember the farm there, just below there onthe same side there was a bomb shelter. and opposite that stood a row of terraced houses called 'New Row' hope it will be of interest.

years ago I used to frequent 'The original dog and Partridge' which i think was on the same side as the vic centre opposite the 'old dog and Partridge they used to serve cheese and onion cobs the cobs were cut twice with one layer of really thick cheese and another thick layer of onion best Iv'e tasted.

lizzieM #53 Thanks for you're interest Lizzie but no I don't remember the humphreys but there was a friend of ours a jean humphreys who married an Attenborough and lived on Belvoir road opposite Chandos gates we also knew her mum and dad who lived futther down chandos st but probably not the same Humphreys you mentioned.

Mrs Davis lived at 107 Mr&mrs Varney 111 their daughter had a bubble car. Maureen &Trevor Alan 113 moved to Australia. I remember Mr&mrs brightman's garage. Mrs Robson& daughters Linda &Pearl. Mr Scarborough on opposite side who was caretaker at Chandos school. Mrs Walker ran the corner shop and was then taken over by Kate& Albert Walsh and two daughters Kath & Ann keen forest supporters.
