The smell of Boots the chemist! I know you may not think it has a smell,but it does. All those heady perfumes & a thousand & one fragrances from bath salts to talcum powder,that always does it for me. I remember Debenhams was much the same when I was a younger too. And Goose Fair! too many smells to name but close your eyes & they all come floating back

There was a maggot factory in Colwick i'm sure ,my partner & his brothers used to work there in the 60/70s. Pong you haven't smelt anything like it! The boss who was/is a millionaire was a good friend of the family. He used to go to the Portland baths to have a bath & i can tell you it did nothing at all, still reeked he did ,oh love conquers all
