denshaw 2,877
A lot of the old trophies in the snooker room were for Carter Gate team.
catfan 14,793
Also known as "The Big House". I believe Carter Gate was the formewr name of that stretch of Parliament Street.
Stuart.C 493
There's at least 2 cast Street name plates still on the NCT bus offices with Lower Parliament St and Carter Gate on them. Carter Gate Ford, later Hanger, then Cowie was where the white hoarding is. Trent Bus Barton is just down from it then Machin Mart on the corner. https://www.google.com/maps/@52.952556,-1.1387785,3a,37.5y,136.76h,90.66t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s6Mw6WrpPZg6F-xwqRg1VCQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
Beekay 5,196
Just looked at your link Stuart.C , Wow, what an eye opener. I recognised the depot facade but the rest, when scrolling round was totally alien to me. Looking at it now, I can't believe I used to drive buses out of there all those many years ago. Thank you.
