When the Haar comes in from the sea it is very eerie. It is as if nothing outside the garden is there any more...

Love the local names for stuff. I remember the Haar when I lived just outside Aberdeen. Whilst in Scarborough last year it was called the Sea Fret. Quite spooky too especially in the evening.

Sea Frets they were called in North Yorkshire. Odd how quick the temperature dropped when one came in from the North Sea, from 75F down to 50F something in mere minutes.

I watch it coming up the valley from Wick. I can usually judge how long I have before having to put on a jacket. It rolls in like a thick grey blanket.
