mick2me 3,033
Yes we did have a contact email, Never used now. It was maliciously subscribed to numerous lists and has been bombarded with junk which closed it down. Incidentally, the support forum for our software is here... http://community.invisionpower.com/ Alison I am aware of the .htaccess file as I have modded it before, unfortunately I am really busy at the moment. For what its worth here is the content of .htaccess <IfModule mod_suphp.c> suPHP_ConfigPath /home/nottstal/public_html <Files php.ini> order allow, deny deny from all </Files> </IfModule> <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> Options -MultiViews RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /forums/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} .*\.(jpeg|jpg|gif|png)$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule . /forums/public/404.php [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /forums/index.php [L] </IfModule> RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://nottstalgia.com/.*$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://nottstalgia.com$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://varietyclub.nottstalgia.com/.*$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://varietyclub.nottstalgia.com$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.nottstalgia.com/.*$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.nottstalgia.com$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.varietyclub.nottstalgia.com/.*$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.varietyclub.nottstalgia.com$ [NC] RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp)$ - [F,NC] SetEnv PHPRC /home/cpanelusername/public_html
alisoncc 379
Don't think it gets that far. In looking at the issues Bazza had had, prior to be locked out I had pinged the site a couple of times and done a route trace. The pings had timed out with "no reponse", and the route trace ceased to get a response after hitting the host redirect server address. I suspect that the lockout was initiated by these actions. My feelings are that they are very aggressive in their security monitoring to the point of paranoia. They are locking users out well before it hits the site's .htaccess. mick2me 3,033
Is this blocking certain IP Addresses I wonder? But why Bazza? not as heavy a user as myself and I have had no problems?
alisoncc 379
Iomart Hosting who host nottstalgia run on servers provided by RapidSwitch Ltd The IP address for Nottstalgia.com is 95.154.211.81. A trace route stops at 87.117.212.38 which is the server that handles the redirect to nottstalgia.com/forums. IP address 87.117.212.38 belongs to RapidSwitch Ltd. Could be that Bazza's IP address is associated with a range of addresses that may have been blacklisted. I was blocked most probably because I did a couple of pings and a trace route, and I have a static IP address.

bazza 71
Meanwhile back on the Nottstalgia difficulties, this isn't a problem I've ever experienced so I can't really offer any help or explanations. When you say "locked out" are you just not able to log in? Until you accessed it via the Proxy, can you get the site or see it at all? So you effectively become a "Guest" for a while. I believe there is at least one forum (although I'm not sure which one) where a Guest can post messages, which might be your emergency get-out route. As the problem seems to affect only a few people occasionally, the blocked IP address seems a good bet for an explanation. Backagain.Only out for a few days this time. After all the years I've been on this forum why would my IP addy be blocked intermitently ? Because there is a fault with the server. Not Happy Baz
bazza 71
As I mentioned previously,I also at one stage could not post even though I was signed in. Then I couldn't sign out but when I did get the site up on screen again I was signed out.. Let's see what happens this time Baz
