My hops are now all safely gathered in and laid out in the loft for drying. Good harvest this year; I should think enough to make about 800-1000 pints of beer.

Fuggles are a variety of hop used for making mild ale or dark ales although I have used them for bitter. A very traditional English hop. Used to be a favouritewithr amateurs for top fermenting brews. Not made beer for many a year but would like another go. tied up with cider making these days.

I used to have a beer brew every Saturday morning using a Baby Burco nappy boiler. My mates reckon that the flavour was unique  The beer I made when living in Keyworth seemed better than the beer I made when I moved to Stafford. Obviously the water was different.
