Smiffy49 590
I have vague memories of going to have my haircut during the mid 1950's at a place called "Henry's" off Wilford Road. Does anyone remember this place or have any photographs. In my minds eye I can also see a sign that said "Slipper Baths" or something like that nearby.
Cliff Ton 10,479
I don't know the area well, but this photo is described as 'Manning Slipper Baths, Hawthorne Street', which may answer one of your questions. And this is described as the corner of Wilford Road/Kings Meadow Road, with a barbers on the right.
Smiffy49 590
Thanks Cliff Ton, I think the lower pic is the right place. There is also a sign on the left but cannot make out what it says.
TBI 2,351
The sign could indeed be pointing to the baths, there's not much else down there that might warrant a specific sign, don't think there was one for the ROF. The baths I remember, were next to Bosworth School.
