Aeelo all!

Been chasing my tail for a while now trying to obtain a list as mentioned above to correct some maps.

Invariably these areas are called localities, neighbourhoods, suburbs or communities.

Really at first interested in areas within the city boundaries - that means Carlton, Arnold, Hucknall, West Bridgford, Beeston, Gedling, Netherfield, Colwick etc are all out!

Did a search on here but no list as such.

Spoke to the Nottingham Insight team at the council, and they duly supplied the following:

A map of wards:

http://info.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/insightmapping/?l=0.21,0.7&xmin=442885&xmax=468285&ymin=331090&ymax=349028

(wards usually contain several of these areas into one though, example being the Dales contain Sneinton and Bakersfield)

An Insight map view showing some housing area subdivisions which aren't labelled, and appear far smaller than the areas themselves:

http://info.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/insightmapping/?l=0.21,6.11,6.10,6.9&xmin=442276&xmax=468893&ymin=331619&ymax=348499

A list of community profiles:

http://www.nottinghaminsight.org.uk/f/95239/Library/Community-and-Living/2011-Census/Census-Community-Profiles/

This last one is the nearest thing to what I'm looking for but is incomplete as Bakersfield, Rise Park, Cinderhill and Top Valley amongst others appear to not be there

I was hoping this was a basic list NCC would have but shamefully not as all their online docs seem to be wards-driven nowadays.

Is anyone aware of a link to a full list of areas within the city?

There is a list on the Wiki page for Nottingham, but not sure how complete it is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nottingham#Within_the_city

I understand from another council document (which has since been deleted once I highlighted it as 'it wasn't used operationally') there are as many as 51 of these subdivisions.

Thanks all.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Been reading these forums for a while, this is such a fab historical resource.

I'm 40 years old and lived in London for the first half of that so I'll have nowhere the deep memories as some of the wise old chaps on here.

This is pretty much home now, I'd rather be in the sticks than that melting 'pit' down south (although I have fallen in love with the Derbyshire Dales, and would move there if I won the lotto!).

Anyway back on track, hopefully someone will pop up with this elusive list of city suburbs!
