mary1947 2,086
For the people who used to live or still do in Hucknall. Tom Irvine was a minister who every person in Hucknall knew. He passed away on Easter Sunday, he was a people person even being a minister he would socialise with you at the pub, he would put people at ease when they were getting married by him, he liked to have a good banter he played dominoes and liked a drop of whisky and a smoke. He was head of religious education and sixth form at Eastwood Technical Grammar school. A chaplain for Nottinghamshire police, Hucknall's Royal British Legion, and much much more. It's a sad loss for Hucknall. RIP TOM.

woody 555
I attended several funerals conducted by Tom Irvine and was impressed by his style. Everything was done with the utmost dignity and respect but nothing sanctimonious. I regard it as a privilege to have seen him in action.
