EileenH 496
I've just been out to the garden to pick the last of the early strawberries. We've had loads this year. As I filled the bowl I thought to myself, 'Kids nowadays? What are they like?' I've had strawberries growing in full view on the front garden just yards from where children pass on the way to school or playing on their bikes and I don't think we've lost one, except to a cheeky blackbird. We've got just a low wall and no gate. Obviously modern children are more honest than we were.

catfan 14,793
In today's Benefit Britain kids are bone idle & would rather mummy gets them from Tesco, Aldi etc. As kids we would nick em cos our parents couldn't afford to buy them.

EileenH 496
Good to be back, Cliff. Did you sort my double post out? Thanks. (Love the new portrait!)
Cliff Ton 10,479
Maybe the explanation is that kids won't understand what a strawberry is until McDonalds start to sell them within some kind of burger; or market them as an alternative to an all-day breakfast.
